Sri Lanka is commemorating the 72nd Independence Day of Sri Lanka. This is a very special day which we celebrate annually remaining the past of our total commitments and hard work of our forefathers.
As all of us know that in order to achieve our independence, our forefathers of all multi-religious, multi-racial and ethnic communities worked hard in order to achieve our immemorable independence. Their mission was to achieve the independence for all communities live in co-existence without any racial or religious discrimination, thereby all communities having their own rights and privileges worked hard to achieve the development and prosperity of the country for the betterment of the concerned
As such the truth of the fact was that they have become the stake holders of all governments and the ruling parities having engaged in part and partial of the development aspect of the social, educational, economic and security of the country.
Under the independence achieved by the leaders of Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and Christian communities would not tolerate at any cost the religious intolerance. None of the citizen of this country will tolerate such religious hatred feelings towards other community.
We therefore hope and pray that progressive steps mentioned by the president would further strengthen and gain stronghold as stressed in his presidential speech that he was the president for all the people of this country. We wish to remain that we all communities get togather and work hard to achieve the required development and progress of the country.
All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama wish and offer its prayers for the progress, and prosperity of Sri Lanka with its full potentials.
