Appeal by the ACJU regarding the offering of funeral prayer in absentia (Ghaib) for those who lost their lives during the calamities happened in Morocco and Libya

ACJU/FRL/2023/72-362

2023.09.17 (1445.03.01)

It is well known that due to the massive earth quake that rocked Morocco on 2023.09.08 and a couple of dams cracked open due to the heavy rain in the North Eastern region of Libya have resulted in the death of scores of thousands of people and left many more injured.

We seek Dua from Allah The Almighty, to grant Paradise to all those who demised, to console the families affected, and to grant a speedy recovery to those injured.

During such disasters, floods, calamities, tribulations, and ordeals it is the guidance of Islam to engage in good deeds such as Prayers, Dua, fasting, Dhikr, Isthighfar, supplication and Sadaqa to alleviate such matters, to seek forgiveness for those who lost their lives, and to offer funeral prayers for them.

Accordingly, The ACJU kindly requests the administrations and Imams of all Masjids to conduct a Ghaib Janaza Prayer (Funeral Prayer in absentia) tomorrow (18.09.2023) Monday after Isha prayers, for all those who lost their lives both at the disaster and the floods.
