He completed his religious education from Jamiyya Islamiyya in Madinah, and completed his doctoral studies at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. He served as the Chancellor and Shaikh-ul-Hadith of ‘Jamia Uloomil Islamiyya’ (Allama Binoori Town) in Karachi, Pakistan, as President of Wifaq-ul-Madaris (Federation of Islamic Seminaries in Pakistan), and as Treasurer of ‘Al Majlisul Aalami Thahaffuzi Kathmin Nubuwwa’, which is an international organization to protect the Finality of Prophet-hood. Shortly after the Tsunami disaster occurred, Shaikh Abdur Razzak arrived in Sri Lanka in 2005, and traveled to visit the disaster-struck areas with a delegation from the ACJU, and distributed relief items among the destitute people.
It is significant to note that in March 2007 he was invited to grace the International Conference on “Protecting the Finality of Prophet-hood” organized by the ACJU, in which delivered a remarkable guest lecture in Arabic. It is also noteworthy that he had maintained a close association and relationship with Sri Lanka for more than 4 decades, and had contributed immensely during his visits to our country.
Shaikh Abdur Razzak (Rah) was an inspiring Ustaad (teacher) to hundreds of students around the world, including more than 100 students from Sri Lanka who had the privilege of benefitting directly from his radiant personality.
At this sorrowful moment, the ACJU on behalf of the Ulama and the Muslim Community of Sri Lanka convey its deepest condolences to his family, relatives, students, and to all those who benefitted from his knowledge and spiritual guidance.
May Almighty Allah accept all his good deeds, forgive his sins, accept him among the good believers, and bless him with ‘Jannathul Firdous’, the highest among heavens.
