Condolence Message of All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama on the demise of Marhoom Al-Haj Azhar Kamaldeen (Retd.) DIG

We the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, express our deepest condolences on the demise of Al-Haj Azhar Kamaldeen DIG (Retd.).

‘Verily to Allah we belong and to Him is our return’ إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

Al-Haj Azhar Kamaldeen, who was born in Badulla, was a well-known personality who served the Sri Lanka Police Department for more than 3 decades.

He joined the Sri Lanka Police in 1970 and was awarded with several promotions throughout his service and finally retired as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in 2008.

During his illustrious tenure he was known for his knowledge, experience and strong leadership qualities and was always held with high esteem by his superiors, peers and subordinates. His discipline and attention towards his official duties were well-known by all especially amongst his fellow colleagues and was looked up as a sincere servant of the nation.

After his retirement, he dedicated his life towards social services and religious activities. His exceptional services towards the Nation was greatly commended and shall be remembered by all.

With profound sadness, we convey our deepest condolences to his family, his friends and all his associates.

May Allah accept all his good deeds, purify his soul, and make his life in the Hereafter better than this world, may He grant his family peace and immense reward for their beautiful patience and unite them in Jannathul Firdous.

(O Allah, do not deprive us of our reward (for being patient) and do not subject us to trials after his death, forgive us and him)
