إنا لله وإنا اليه راجعون ‘Verily to Allah we belong and unto Him is our return’
It is greatly saddening to hear about the demise of Moulana (Mufti) Muhammad Taha Karaan (Rahmatullahi Alayhi) who was one of the most prominent Aalims in the modern world.
Moulana Taha Karaan (Rah) served as the Mufti of the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) of South Africa and while contributing immensely as a specialist in the field of Sha’fi Fiqh (Jurisprudence) by compiling solutions for various contemporary issues faced by the Muslim community around the world.
Moulana was renowned for his extensive knowledge on Islamic Sciences and as a dedicated teacher who was also known for his noble characteristics. He was an inspiring Ustaad to hundreds of Students around the world, including many Students from Sri Lanka who had the privilege of benefitting directly from his radiant personality. Moulana had visited Sri Lanka for a ‘Khatmul Bukhari’ graduation ceremony of a Religious Institute during he had traveled around the country, which enabled many Ulama of our country to benefit from his profound Religious knowledge.
Moulana Taha Karaan (Rah) had been well-known for addressing contemporary issues frequently, especially issues on Fiqh affecting the Muslim communities in today’s world.
The ACJU wishes to express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and his students of the Religious Institutes he had taught and to all those who loved and respected him from around the world.
May Allah grant him Forgiveness, have Mercy upon him and Bless him with the highest abode in Hereafter.
And May Allah bestow patience and solace to all those who mourn his loss and compensate the Muslim Ummah with goodness.
