Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar,
All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama extends its wishes on Eid-ul-Adha, Haj Festival greetings, to the Muslim community of Sri Lanka.
Almighty Allah has blessed us with this special day of Eid to commemorate the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him) and his wife and child (Peace Be Upon Them). The sacrifices of this family are a great example for the entire human society. It is through the sacrifices of individuals, families and communities that a nation can be successful. Islam teaches that success in life can be achieved through sacrifices.
We have attained Eid-ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice this year, amidst an economic crisis in our country. During this crisis period, Islam insists on giving priority to the needs of others, sacrificing one’s personal desires for the good of the country and society.
Performance of Uldhiyyah and other good deeds, which signifies the sacrifices of the father and the son who did not back down from fulfilling the commands of Allah, should be done appropriately in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
At the same time, we should inculcate good qualities such as instilling the spirit of sacrifice imparted by this festival of sacrifice, engaging in religious matters diligently, assisting others, and conducting ourselves peacefully and cordially with understanding, especially with members of other faiths.
ACJU prays to Almighty Allah to bless our country and the world with peace and unity, and that we are able to adopt the learnings of sacrifice signified in this month which enables us to conduct ourselves as role models for our future generations and that the present crisis situation in our country is resolved soon and is restored with normalcy and prosperity.
