Eid-ul-Fitr Message

ACJU/NGS/2021/071

2021.05.14 (1442.10.01)

The President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Committee, Members and Staff of the ACJU wishes to convey their Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to all the Muslims who celebrate the festival, after fasting for an entire month and engaging in good deeds amidst the restrictions imposed due to Covid-19 pandemic.

On this blessed occasion of marking the end of the obligatory fasting period for Muslims, the ACJU also wishes to convey its heartfelt gratitude to all the frontline health workers, security officials and essential service providers, who work tirelessly to safeguard our motherland from the severe effects of this deadly virus.

On this blessed day, we pray that those who have been faced with injustice, and who were severely affected by the Easter Attacks and their families be served with justice and relief immediately. We also pray that those who are sick due to Covid-19 and other illnesses are granted quick recovery, and the families of those who passed away due to illnesses are blessed with solace and peace of mind.

While adhering to the health guidelines and Islamic teachings, we believe that it is the duty of every Sri Lankan Muslim to pray that this virus and impacts of it are eliminated from the face of the earth very soon, and the entire world population, especially the Sri Lankan population be freed from the effects of this pandemic immediately.

A Mu’min (Believer) is known to be a person who places his strong and utmost trust in Allah in difficult times. We must have the faith that if Allah Ta’ala takes something from us, He will grant us something better than what is taken from us. Almighty Allah says in the holy Qur’an that “Verily, with hardship comes ease”. Let us hope and pray that we are blessed with all forms of goodness with the dawn of the month of Shawwal.

May the Almighty Allah accept our fasts, bless us with his highest rewards, and relieve the people around the world from tests and trials that they are undergoing!

Aameen.
