We are aware that all of us are experiencing immense difficulties due to the economic crisis prevailing in our country. In these circumstances, the price hike of electricity, and the rising cost of living have affected the common man. The ACJU is in receipt of worrisome information from all parts of the island as to how countless families have been affected, without even being able to provide themselves with three meals a day.

Medical professionals have warned that many people with common illnesses have decided to stop their regular medication, which will result in critical consequences.

It is noteworthy that the ACJU has contacted relevant authorities and offered to provide help and support to reduce the burden on Sri Lankans at this critical juncture.

As such, in view of the prevailing critical situation, the ACJU kindly requests wealthy people, philanthropists, donors etc. to extend their help and support as much as possible, without racial or religious differences. Also, the ACJU further requests from its branch associations, Masjid Boards of Trustees and other social organizations to prioritize helping the needy during these tough times.

The holy Al-Quran states that providing food for people in hunger will definitely pave way for Allah’s mercy and protection from hellfire.

May the Almighty Allah accept our intentions and acts to help the impoverished and the needy.
