The Sri Lankan Muslim community for many centuries has followed the principles of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ath and has been an adherent community when it comes to abiding laws, living with coexistence with other communities without posing any threat to the sovereignty and security of the country.
It is the responsibility of religious scholars to intervene and create awareness among Muslims, in the event of any deviant ideologies that differ from the principles of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ath penetrate into the society, it is the responsibility of religious scholars to intervene and create awareness among Muslims. Similarly it is the responsibility of the general public to reach out to Aalims (Religious scholars) and receive clarifications when new ideologies are being propagated.
Accordingly, the Super Muslim ideology contradicts with many clear Quranic verses, authentic Hadiths, while it is also in contradiction to the unanimous views of religious scholars on accounts related to the ‘Signs of the Last Hour’, where it is observed that self-explanations are provided based on mere rational arguments. In recent times this ideology is seen to be spread among some people in Sri Lanka too.
A religious jurisdiction regarding this matter was issued by the ACJU on 2020.10.08. It can be accessed at the following link:

Hence, the ACJU requests all Muslims to refrain from sharing or discussing information regarding this deviant ideology especially on social media platforms. Furthermore, since this ideology has a pretext of isolating the people and Muslims of this country from the mainstream, it is perceived as vulnerable threat to the national security. Therefore, this issue has been reported to the relevant government officers.
Furthermore, the ACJU urges the communal leaders to guide those who are engrained in this ideology towards the straight path with eloquence and kindness.
May Almighty Allah safeguard all of us from such deviant ideologies.
