People are severely affected due to increased temperatures and drought conditions prevailing in most parts of the country. At this time it is necessary for us to pray to Almighty Allah to ease the situation.
Water is essential for us. Due to its scarcity, plants and other living things, including livestock, are adversely affected. Hydropower generation and agricultural activities are also hampered due to the lack of adequate water.
During such difficult situations, the teachings of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SallallahuAlaihiWasallam), teaches us to rectify the shortcomings in our lives and engage in Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) abundantly. Through this our sins could be forgiven and the Mercy of Almighty could be acquired.
Therefore, we should seek Tawba (repentance) for our sins and supplicate to Almighty Allah for the elimination of the prevailing drought conditions.
The ACJU urges those in charge in the drought affected areas to organize prayers in search of rain (Salatul Istisqa) and to recite the related Duas seeking rain.
Almighty Allah refers to the preaching of Prophet Nuh (PBUH) to his community as follows:
“So I said, Pray to your Lord for your forgiveness, Indeed He is Very-Forgiving, and He will cause the heavens to rain upon you in abundance, and will help you with riches and sons, and will cause gardens to grow for you, and cause rivers to flow for you.” (Surah Nuh: 10-12)
The following are some Duas (supplications) recited by the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SallallahuAlaihiWasallam) seeking rain:

اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنا غَيثًا مُغِيثًا مَرِيئًا مَرِيعًا نَافِعاً غَيْرَ ضارٍ، عَاجِلاً غَيْرَ آجِلٍ’ – رواه أبو داود 116
اللَّهُمَّ أغِثْنَا ، اللَّهُمَّ أغِثْنا ، اللهٌمَّ أغِثْنا – ‘رواه مسلم 897
اللهٌمَّ اسْقِ عِبَادَكَ ، وَبَهَائِمَكَ ، وَانْشُرْ رَحْمَتَكَ وَأحْيِ بَلَدَكَ المَيِّت – ‘رواه أبو داود 1
