OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE VICTIMS OF THE RECENT ATTACK ON A CHURCH IN INDONESIA

It is greatly disturbing to hear about the recent terror attacks on a Church in Indonesia on ‘Palm Sunday’, which is a holy day for Christians. It is indeed shameful that innocent people have been attacked while performing their religious observances.

The ACJU strongly condemns this attack and expresses its sincere sympathies to all those who were affected. This heinous deed is absolutely intolerable and fills the hearts of humanity around the globe with remorse and anxiety. It is greatly alarming to witness reports of such inhuman attacks on religious places of worship rapidly increasing in the recent past.

It is imperative that we continuously engage in efforts to strengthen the mutual relationships among the Christians, Muslims and other faiths which would enable us to overcome the evil elements who are attempting to spread discord among religious communities utilizing vulnerable radicalized groups, in order to implement their selfish agendas around the globe.

We wish to remember and honor the significant role played by Your Eminence in consoling the Christian community and those who were effected in the unfortunate 2019 Easter Attacks which preserving peace and tranquility among the communities during the crucial period.

We sincerely pray and hope the perpetrators of these crimes, who are enemies of humanity, are brought to justice without delay.

We pray to Almighty Allah that He eases the pain of all who were affected and grant His mercy to them.

Ash Shaikh M. Arkam Nooramith
