We wish to express our gratitude to the people of Oddamavadi for allowing the burial of Covid-19 victims in accordance with the stipulated health guidelines. We must acknowledge that the Army, Police, the officials of the Batticoloa District, Health authorities, community stakeholders and several others have in various ways facilitated this process.
We anticipate that other suitable locations would be identified by the authorities while respecting the sensitivities of the people of the relevant areas.This would enable those from other faiths too, who die of Covid-19 and prefer a burial, to have a designated place for themselves.
