“O beloved Prophet (ﷺ), And more excellent than you, my eye has never seen, And more beautiful than you, no woman ever gave birth to; You were created free from any flaw whatsoever, As though you were created just the way you wanted.” Hazrat Hassan Ibn Thabit Radiyallahu Anhu commented looking at the Prophet (ﷺ).
Beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) dedicated his life to the rights of children, rights of women, the welfare of humanity and equality and harmony. He (ﷺ) always upheld justice in all situations and embraced the poor and the orphans. He (ﷺ) introduced the ‘Madinah Charter’, which was a constitution of fairness that included multi-ethnic communities. He (ﷺ) was immensely successful in both religious and worldly affairs. Thereby beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) has been recognized as the most influential person in human history.
Accordingly, the month of Rabeeunil Awwal which marks the noble birth of the Prophet (ﷺ) bears special significance. The day known as ‘Meeladun-Nabi’ bears historical significance and is commemorated universally with joy and happiness. The word ‘Rabeeun’ denotes the season of spring. The season of spring brings greenery, beauty and splendour to the earth. Similarly, the birth of our most beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) brought blessings, freedom, success, liberation, peace and contentment to humanity.
The Holy Quran mentions this as follows: ‘And We have not sent you but as a mercy to the entire universe.’ – Surah Anbiya (21) Verse 107.
Almighty Allah sealed the Prophet-hood with the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). He (ﷺ) was entrusted with the responsibility of guiding mankind towards righteousness until the Hereafter. And Prophet (ﷺ) is the sole guide and role model in all aspects of human life.
He (ﷺ)’s life was filled with beautiful examples for mankind. The Holy Quran states: “There is indeed a good model for you in the Messenger of Allah” (Surah Ahzab Verse 21)
It is our duty and responsibility as members of the Ummat of Prophet (ﷺ) to convey Salawaat and Salaam upon Prophet (ﷺ), to recite Salawat with respect when we mention or hear His (ﷺ)’s blessed name, to honour the family of Prophet (ﷺ), ‘Ahlul Bayt’, to learning the Hadiths and to practising the blessed Sunnahs with piety, to allocate time to ponder and learn the teachings and noble characteristics of Prophet (ﷺ), to raise awareness about Prophet (ﷺ) among those who are unaware about him, and to clarify misconceptions and misunderstandings and to provide the correct understanding and to establish goodwill among all about Prophet (ﷺ).
So let us love the Prophet (ﷺ) more than our own lives. Let us study His (ﷺ)’s legacy deeply and instil love and affection for Prophet (ﷺ) in our children. May Almighty Allah bless all of us to lead our lives according to the noble teachings of the Prophet (ﷺ) until the Last Day and grant us the privilege of the blessed companionship of the Prophet (ﷺ) in Jannah, Aameen.
