The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) is pleased to release this special statement to commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaihi WaSallam) which was a blessing to the entire mankind.
The Arabic month of Rabeeunil-Awwal is a very significant month. This is the blessed month in which Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaihi WaSallam) was born to enlighten the humanity to the right path.
The word ‘Rabeeun’ denotes the season of spring. The season of spring brings greenery, beauty and splendor to the earth. Similarly, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaihi WaSallam) brought prosperity, success, happiness, peace and contentment to humanity.
The religion of Islam conveyed by Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaihi WaSallam), is enriched abundantly with teachings and guidance to fulfill the spiritual vacuum of today’s world and to establish global peace and tranquility.
Commemorating the Final Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaihi WaSallam) on this auspicious day, let us resolve to live in accordance to his teachings on the values of humanity, love, kindness, affection, coexistence and working towards the wellbeing of the people.
It is a practice of Muslims to engage in various good deeds on this special day. Hence, we earnestly request everyone to mutually respect emotions of others and to uphold social unity.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there are many in our country who are affected financially and on this special day, we kindly urge everyone to extend support in all possible means to those in need, regardless of race or religion. We also request all to pray that the trials of Covid-19 pandemic is eliminated from this world and the people’s lives are restored to normalcy and enriched with goodness.
We sincerely wish and pray on this special day, that our motherland is blessed with peace, harmony and prosperity.
