Adolescence is the most valuable period of human life. This period between childhood and elderly age is full of liveliness. It bears courage and passion to undertake any challenge.

The Holy Qur’an mentions the following about the youth who took refuge in a cave to protect their Imaan (faith) for expressing the truth before an oppressive ruler.

“We narrate to you their story with truth. They were young men who believed in their Lord and We gave them more guidance.” (Surah Kahf, Verse 13)

Youth is a vital period during which one nurtures personality, develops leadership characteristics as a future social leader and acquires qualifications, to lead a beneficial life in this world and the Hereafter.

Thus, this period of life shall be specifically queried about on the Day of Resurrection. Youngsters should enable themselves to bear accountability at any given time.

‘On the Day of Resurrection, a servant’s foot will not move until he is asked about five things. In it, along with the question of how he spent his life, he will be asked specifically queried about, how he spent his youth.” (Narrated by: Abdullah ibn Masood (Radhiyallahu Anhu), Book: Tirmidhi)

Historic achievements, victories and significant junctures in the Islamic history and in the world history, were facilitated by the youth. Since the inception and throughout history of Islam, youth have made valuable contributions. Even today, we are reading the heroic stories of the pious and brave young Sahabas (Companions) who were with the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SallallahuAlaihi Wasallam).

The youth in our society deserve to be honored. It is the responsibility of civil societies and leaders, to acknowledge and recognize their talents, strengths and personalities, and to offer opportunities and guidance and to engage them in community building efforts.

The United Nations has declared 12th of August as the ‘International Youth Day’ in order to promote and encourage the active engagement of youth in the society. And the ACJU cordially invites the youth to collaborate with the activities of the ACJU Division for Youth Affairs.

May Almighty Allah bless our youth with knowledge, good health, progressive careers and happy family lives and enable them to lead their lives in a manner pleasing to Allah and His Messenger (SallallahuAlaihi Wasallam). And may they be blessed with the ability to conduct themselves moderately and contribute towards the welfare of the society and our Motherland, with the intent being successful in the Hereafter.
