A delegation including the General Secretary of ACJU visited the High Commission of India yesterday (2022.06.09), to express the displeasure and condemnation of the Muslims of Sri Lanka on the recent insulting remarks by 2 BJP officials, regarding our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi WaSallam), which created an uproar within the Muslim communities around the world.
Following the submission of the delegation, His Excellency High Commissioner of India stated that these derogatory remarks do not reflect the position of the Indian Government nor the people of India and that India has always been a country in the Asian continent which honours the multi-ethnic, multi-religious communities. It was also stated that the relevant party leaders have taken prompt actions against the 2 concerned officials associated with this matter.
The ACJU expressed its gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided by India to Sri Lanka during this crisis period and stated that collaborative efforts should be made to strengthen peaceful coexistence among all ethnic communities.
