ACJU Meeting with Muslim Parliamentarians
A Special Meeting was held with the Muslim Parliamentarians, Muslim Council of Sri Lanka, National Shoora Council and the ACJU Executive Committee to discuss the Contemporary Issues faced by the Muslims of Sri Lanka, on the 23rd of May 2017 at the ACJU Head office.
The Parliamentarians who had discussed with the Government’s high officials stated that the Government has promised to take steps forward to implement the country’s law and order.
It was decided at the meeting that the MPs to be delegated with the responsibility of coordinating with Muslim community and government officials in taking proactive measures in handling emergency situations.
It was decided at the meeting that the Parliamentarians were assigned to undertake all the Districts, and overlook the intermediation between the Muslim Community and the Government Officials in emergency situations. The representatives of ACJU Divisional Branches, Masjid Federations and other Civil Societies shall be closely coordinating with respective MPs on behalf of the Muslim Community.
