The 4th Qur’an Recitation Competition, organized for the Sri Lankan Muslim community in Italy, was held on February 16, 2025, with great enthusiasm.
The event was honored by the presence of Mufti M.I.M. Rizwe, President of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, as the Chief Guest. He delivered a keynote address, highlighting important religious and practical aspects of life.
In his speech, Mufti Rizwe discussed the challenges faced by Muslims living in Western countries and offered Islamic guidance on overcoming them. He also emphasized the importance of social unity and provided valuable insights on planning children’s futures, using real-life examples. His address was tailored separately for men and women, making it more relevant and impactful.
A total of 35 children, aged 2 to 17, from various European countries, participated in the competition, displaying their talents through multiple activities.
As a new initiative, a Qur’an Recitation Competition for participants aged 15 and above (reading directly from the Mus’haf) was also introduced.
At the conclusion of the event, Mufti Rizwe distributed certificates to the participants, encouraging their dedication to Qur’anic studies.
