On 3rd October 2024, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, a special Islamic religious event was held at the Kollupitiya Jummah Mosque. The General Secretary of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, Ash-Sheikh M. Arkam Nooramith, attended as the special guest.
The event was led by the Army Commander, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, who was the chief guest. Among the attendees were high-ranking military officials, Muslim army officers, the Imams and administrators of the Kollupitiya Jummah Mosque, and members of the public.
In his address, Ash-Sheikh M. Arkam Nooramith emphasized the importance of national security and the critical role of security personnel. He also offered a special prayer for those engaged in security work, asking for their integrity and excellence in fulfilling their duties.
