All Cevlon Jamiyyathul Ulama condemns the Nice City Attack in France
We, All Ceylon Jamiyyathul UIama, the supreme body of Muslim theologians in Sri Lanka, vehemently condemn the Nice City attack on the innocent civilians, killing 84 people, in France on Thursday 14th July, 2016. We convey our condolences to the people of France, especially the family members of the victims and friends.
Violence activities against the innocent civilians contradicts the Principles of Quran and the Traditions of our Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). There is no justification in lslam for extremism or terrorism. The Holy Quran, states: “Whoever kills a person, it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind” {Quran,5:32). Moreover, the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said “Allah shows kindness towards those who are kind to one another. Be kind to those who live on this earth, the one’ above the skies will be kind to you” (Tirmidhi).
lslam has given so much importance to human beings that it regards the killing of a single person is like killing the entire humanity, without differentiation based on creed and caste. lts teaching of peace encompasses all humanity. lslam has taught its followers to treat all mankind with mercy, tolerance and justice. lslam sternly condemns all kinds of oppression, violence and terrorism. lt has regarded oppression, mischief and murdering among severest sins and crimes.
As a nation we had experienced with such incidences and we can realize the distress of your people. The ACJU strongly believes that these types of brutal killings of innocent human beings in any part of the world at any cost.
