Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu
For the past few days, some parts of the nation have experienced unstable weather. The Meteorological Department has indicated that there is a possibility of strong winds and heavy rain in many regions in the coming days.
The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama requests the people of the country to pray to Allah to protect them from the dangers of this series of winds and the difficulties caused by it. The Jamiyya also urges the people in affected areas to provide whatever assistance they can to those impacted by this situation.
Additionally, the Jamiyya asks the people in areas where there is a possibility of strong winds to heed the instructions issued by the government. The Ulama are also requested to guide the people in their areas on how to act in such situations, encourage them to recite the following dua frequently, and guide them to turn to Allah and seek His help.
Dua to be recited when the wind blows strongly:
اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ
>”O Allah, I ask you for the goodness of this wind and the goodness that is hidden in it and the goodness that it has sent with it. I seek refuge in you from the evil of this wind and the evil that is hidden in it and the evil that it has sent with it.” (Sahih Muslim: 899)
May Allah bestow upon us pleasant weather and guard us from every harm.
