Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding strong winds and unfavorable weather conditions affecting parts of the country in recent days, with the possibility that these conditions may persist in the coming days.
In response, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama urges residents in affected areas to adhere to the guidelines provided by the government. Scholars are encouraged to guide their communities on how to respond to such situations by turning to Allah through good deeds, including Istighfar, Tawbah, Sadaqah, prayer, and fasting, while seeking His assistance.
Additionally, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama requests that the imams of masjids recite Qunoot – an – Nazila during the five daily prayers until the floods and severe weather conditions in the country subside.
Duas to be recited in Qunut an Nazila:
اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا ولَا عَلَيْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ علَى الآكَامِ والظِّرَابِ، وبُطُونِ الأوْدِيَةِ، ومَنَابِتِ الشَّجَرِ
اللَّهُمَّ إنا نَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا، وَخَيْرَ ما فِيهَا، وَخَيْرَ ما أُرْسِلَتْ به، وَنَعُوذُ بكَ مِن شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ ما فِيهَا، وَشَرِّ ما أُرْسِلَتْ به
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَدْمِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ التَّرَدِّي، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْغَرَقِ، وَالْحَرَقِ، وَالْهَرَمِ
اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَقْتُلْنَا بِغَضَبِكَ، وَلَا تُهْلِكْنَا بِعَذَابِكَ، وَعَافِنَا مِنْ قَبْل ذَلِكَ
