Bar Association of Sri Lanka Representatives Meets the ACJU Executive Committee

The President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) visited the head office of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) on 13 August 2026 and held a meeting with members of the ACJU Executive Committee.

During the meeting, the representatives of the BASL shared their views on matters relating to judicial reforms, with particular attention to the proposed constitutional amendment concerning the extension of the retirement age of judges.

The BASL representatives explained their position on the proposed amendment and presented the ACJU an outline of their views and position on the matter.

The meeting was attended by a delegation, including the President of the BASL, Mr. Rajeev Amarasuriya PC. Representing the ACJU were its Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, members of the Executive Committee, and Chief Executive Officer.

The meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on important matters concerning the administration of justice and the strengthening of the judicial system.

At the conclusion of the meeting, some of the publications of ACJU were presented to the visiting representatives of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
