Astronomy reports have stated that an Annular Solar Eclipse shall occur tomorrow, 10th of June 2021 (Thursday). Furthermore, it is stated that the eclipse be an annular solar eclipse in some parts of the world and in some parts of the world this may appear as a partial solar eclipse. But this will not be visible to Sri Lanka, Insha Allah
The eclipse prayer is Sunnah when the moon or the sun is seen to disappear completely or partially. Since the eclipse will not be visible in our country, the eclipse prayer will not be Sunnah upon us.
Prophet Muhammad (SallaAllahu Alaihi Wassallam) said: ‘The Sun and the Moon are two Signs of Allah; they are not eclipsed on account of anyone’s death nor on account of anyone’s birth. So when you see them, glorify and supplicate Allah, observe prayer, give alms.’
