On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama extends its heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all citizens of our beloved nation.

Independence is a sacred trust that obliges us to uphold justice, unity, mutual respect, and a shared sense of responsibility. As a multi-religious and multi-ethnic society, Sri Lanka draws its strength from peaceful coexistence, strong moral values, and a collective commitment to national harmony and progress.

Islam teaches the importance of honoring one’s Motherland, adhering to just laws, promoting social justice, and contributing positively to the well-being of society. In this spirit, we call upon all communities, particularly the younger generation, to uphold ethical conduct, respect diversity, and work together towards sustainable development, reconciliation, and lasting peace.

We commemorate with deep gratitude the sacrifices and dedicated efforts of leaders and patriots from all walks of life who contributed to securing our freedom, irrespective of caste, race, or religion. Our forefathers labored tirelessly for the independence of our Motherland, envisioning a nation where every citizen enjoys economic, social, and political freedom, founded upon dignity, honor, and brotherhood.

In this context, Governments bear a responsibility to safeguard the religious and cultural values of this country while guiding the nation forward in harmony with modern global developments.

As citizens of this nation, let us unite in our efforts to advance the progress and prosperity of Sri Lanka, while safeguarding the hard-earned freedom entrusted to us for the benefit of future generations.

May Almighty Allah (SWT) bless our Motherland with lasting peace, stability, unity, and prosperity.
