On 30 November 2025, an urgent meeting was held at the Disaster Management Centre in Colombo between Major General (Retd.) Sampath Kotuwegoda, Director General of the Disaster Management Centre, and the members of the Disaster Relief Coordination Unit of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU).
During the discussion, several important matters were addressed, including the need to expedite relief operations in coordination with the government for the affected communities, as well as providing assistance to relocate people in areas where warnings have been issued to safer locations. Immediate decisions were taken regarding these matters.
