On 30 November 2025, the second round of discussions between the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) and civil society organizations regarding the provision of disaster-relief assistance was held at the ACJU headoffice.
During the meeting, the following matters were discussed and immediate decisions were taken:
1. Identifying the essential needs of the people and ensuring that those needs are addressed without delay.
2. Expediting relief efforts in areas severely affected by the disaster—such as Kandy, Rambukkana, and Mutur, in coordination with government authorities.
3. Informing the public residing in areas where warnings have been issued about possible heavy flooding, and extending assistance to relocate them to safe locations.
A number of participants attended this meeting, including members of the ACJU Executive Committee and representatives of civil society organizations.
