We express our condolences on the demise of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the 28th of February 2026 and strongly condemn the unlawful assassination that has taken place. Such acts of violence constitute a grave violation of international law.
We also convey our deepest sympathies for the 165 schoolgirls who tragically lost their lives, as well as for all innocent civilians who have perished during this difficult period.
The loss of young and innocent lives is a profound tragedy that calls upon the international community to renew its commitment to peace and the protection of civilians.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Government and the people of Iran during this
time of remembrance.
We pray for lasting peace, security, and stability in the region, and for restraint and
wisdom to prevail during these challenging times.
