04 March 2025 A high-level delegation from the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) visited the Royal Embassy of Thailand in Colombo to express their condolences and solidarity following the devastating earthquake that recently struck Thailand and Myanmar.
The delegation was led by ACJU Secretary General Ash-Shaikh M. Arkam Nooramith, along with Treasurer Ash-Shaikh Dr. A.A. Ahmed Azwar and Media Secretary Ash-Shaikh M. Rifah Hasan. They were warmly received by Minister-Counsellor Mr. Arthit Prasartkul at the Thai Embassy, where they conveyed their deep sympathies for the loss of lives, injuries, and destruction caused by the natural disaster.
Speaking at the embassy, Ash-Shaikh Arkam Nooramith expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, stating, “On behalf of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama and the Muslim community in Sri Lanka, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Thailand. We pray for those who lost their lives, and we stand in solidarity with the families affected.”
In response, Minister-Counsellor Mr. Arthit Prasartkul expressed their gratitude for the visit .They highlighted the strong historical ties between Sri Lanka and Thailand and appreciated the Sri Lankan Muslim community’s concern for the victims of the earthquake.
The visit reaffirmed the bonds of friendship and mutual respect between Sri Lanka and Thailand, demonstrating the ACJU’s dedication to fostering compassion and solidarity in times of crisis.
