According to the report issued by the Department of Meteorology on 21.10.2025, heavy rainfall is expected in many parts of the country over the coming days. The public has been advised to remain cautious regarding this situation.
The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) urges the people of the nation to pray to Allah for protection from the dangers of heavy rains and strong winds.
Furthermore, the ACJU requests that residents in areas likely to experience heavy rainfall follow the instructions issued by the government authorities. Ulama are also encouraged to guide their local communities on how to respond during such circumstances, and to inspire them to frequently recite the following supplications (duʿās), turning towards Allah and seeking His help.
Dua to be recited when the wind blows strongly:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا، وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ
“O Allah! I ask You for the good of this wind, the good that is in it, and the good for which it has been sent; and I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil that is in it, and the evil for which it has been sent.” (Muslim : 899)
Dua to be recited when rain exceeds its need:
اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلَا عَلَيْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الأَكَامِ وَالْجِبَالِ وَالآجَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَالأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَرِ
“O Allah! Let it rain around us and not upon us. O Allah! Let it rain on the hills, mountains, valleys, fields, and places where trees grow.” (Bukhari : 1013)
